Firefighter Cake

I was asked to do a firefighter cake for a surprise 40th birthday. I made the rolled up hose out of chocolate cake and decorated it with buttercream icing. I made the single hose and the nozzle out of rice crispie treats and covered them in buttercream icing. I also added blue gel to look like water coming out of the hose. The helmet was made out of white cake. The birthday guy is the lieutenant of Engine 43 in Ridgway, so I decorated the helmet with buttercream frosting to look like his helmet. When everything was decorated, I used an edible black misting spray and sprayed the whole thing to make it look dirty, like it had been in a fire. Everyone loved the cake and Bill was definitely surprised.
