Firefighter Cake

I was asked to do a firefighter cake for a surprise 40th birthday. I made the rolled up hose out of chocolate cake and decorated it with buttercream icing. I made the single hose and the nozzle out of rice crispie treats and covered them in buttercream icing. I also added blue gel to look like water coming out of the hose. The helmet was made out of white cake. The birthday guy is the lieutenant of Engine 43 in Ridgway, so I decorated the helmet with buttercream frosting to look like his helmet. When everything was decorated, I used an edible black misting spray and sprayed the whole thing to make it look dirty, like it had been in a fire. Everyone loved the cake and Bill was definitely surprised.

65th Birthday Cake

I was asked to make a surprise 65th birthday cake for my husbands aunt. I was told she likes birds and purple daisies. I kept this cake kind of simple. I made two 10 inch round cakes, one white and one chocolate, and stacked them on top of each other. The I iced the cake in buttercream doing a basket weave on the the sides. On the top I added purple daisies out of buttercream and a few plastic birds.

Football Stadium Cake

My son Isaac wanted a football party for his 11th birthday. He didn't want a regular football cake, he wanted a football stadium. So I did some searching online and found a stadium kit. I made the bottom tier out of two 9x13 white cakes. For the top tier I made a 9x13 chocolate cake and cut and stacked it to the size I needed. Then I iced both tiers in buttercream and added the plastic stadium pieces. I added all the accents with buttercream. I wasn't sure if that would be enough cake so I also made strawberry cupcakes and iced also iced them with buttercream. Isaac and his friends really loved the cake.

1st Birthday Zebra Print Cake

I was asked to do a 1st birthday cake for a friend's granddaughter. She told me she wanted it to be 3 tiers with zebra print with a pink ribbon between each tier and fresh flowers on the top. I made the bottom tier chocolate cake, the middle tier white cake, and the top tier marble cake. I iced all tree tiers with buttercream and used black fondant to create the zebra stripes. The pink ribbon was also bade with buttercream. After I delivered the cake, the grandma added fresh flowers that she had picked out. Everyone seemed to really love this cake. And the birthday girl was dressed to match it. =)

Bulldozer/Woods Themed Cake

I was asked to do a Bulldozer/Woods themed cake for a birthday. I made two 9x13 cakes, one chocolate and one white, and put them side by side on the cake board. I frosted the whole cake in buttercream. Then I added blue gel for a lake, sugar cones for trees, a toy bulldozer pushing some pretzel logs, and graham cracker crumbs for dirt. The lady that ordered this for her son loved it!

Baptism Cake

I was asked to do a baptism cake for a neighbor. This is what I came up with. I made two 9x13 cakes, one white and one chocolate, and put them side by side. I frosted the whole cake in buttercream icing. I made 6 mini cupcakes and used mini marshmallows to make them look like chrysanthemums. Then I formed them in to a cross on top of the cake.
